NATURE PRESCHOOL
3-5 years

Of the Wild is a Nature Preschool for children aged 3-5. We are a Reggio Emilia inspired inquiry-based preschool aimed at exposing children to experiences in nature to help them grow, develop and learn through an inquiry-based approach. Our curriculum organically stems from children’s unique questions and interests. Educators act as observers and researchers alongside children to purposefully plan for future learning opportunities based on students’ questions, interests and needs. Inquiry promotes differentiation in learning and allows children to demonstrate their thinking at a rate that is developmentally appropriate.

Our Nature Preschool program offers a balance of explorations in our indoor and outdoor environments. We use nature as a venue for play and exploration in all seasons, strengthening the connection between children and their natural world. Children and educators have many opportunities for planned and unplanned natural learning, such as when an eagle soars overhead or a slug crosses their path. This then leads to further discussion and learning in our indoor classroom. Our outdoor environment is more than just a place to play. The environment is essentially the third educator in the program that helps spark children’s natural curiosity.

Miss Carly Henry

Ms.Carly2.jpg

Miss Carly Henry started playing piano at the age of 7. She was captivated by her neighbour’s ability to play and quickly decided it was a passion she wanted to pursue. Shortly after starting piano she was encouraged by her music teacher to not only pursue piano but vocal training as well. Joining the Cantare children’s choir while studying piano broadened her musical background.Throughout junior high and high school, Carly finished her way through grade 8 Royal Conservatory. She participated in many other studies as well, such as a duet exam and was awarded for one of her compositions. Her grade 5 and 6 years, she studied with Conservatory Canada, Contemporary Idioms and learnt more about composition and improvisation.

Once completing grade 8 through Royal Conservatory she studied Piano Pedagogy under Marian Parrott and achieved an Associate Piano Teacher’s Diploma through the University of West London. She was awarded high honours and a scholarship through the Alberta Piano Teacher's Association. As she believes lifelong learning is imperative to being an exceptional teacher, she went on to complete her Licentiate in teaching and a diploma in performance, also through the University of West London. Receiving high honours on these exams, as well as writing an essay on her teaching philosophy, she was awarded the 2017 Alberta Registered Music Teacher’s Association Pedagogy Scholarship. She believes that every life benefits from music and hopes to instill a life long love of music in every student she works with"

Our Children's Yoga Teacher Training is designed to accommodate your schedule, goals and aspirations as a yoga teacher. Why Wee Wild Ones Kids Yoga Teacher Training?

Wee Wild Ones originally started as a children’s yoga company that offered yoga classes to children between the ages 2 - 12, teens, and families. All Wee Wild Ones yoga classes are integrative and open to children with Special Needs. Wee Wild Ones is all about encouraging the healthy development of today’s youth for a more positive, strong, and healthy future. It is no secret that our society is currently struggling with conditions such as obesity, anxiety, and depression - all of which we can reduce by taking an “upstream” approach to health. By supporting children physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally through the Wee Wild Ones program, we hope to encourage the healthy development of children for a healthier and happier tomorrow.

Wee Wild Ones has taken into consideration the standards outlined by yoga organizations such as Yoga Alliance, and fellow kids yoga teacher training programs. We have designed this program to go above and beyond these expectations, creating experienced and creative teachers who are not only able to provide students with an amazing yoga experience, but who can also connect with these children and their families.  By taking the Wee Wild Ones Kids Yoga Teacher Training, you are not only becoming a “children’s yoga instructor”, you are investing in the well being of our tiny humans for future generations to come. We hope to set “the standard” for children’s yoga teacher training.
